Rhapsodie, op, 119. no. 4

Dan Barrett’s arrangement of this beloved late solo piano work of Johannes Brahms’s can be performed by a trombone ensemble of varying levels of experience. The two highest parts have the most rigorous demands, as they are frequently in the extreme upper register. The lower tenor trombone parts are manageable by younger players. All parts except the top two are in bass clef. The heroic, adventurous nature of this piece is enhanced by the trombone sound.
