Beautiful low brass ensemble music
Le Tombeau de Justin Wilson
This three-movement original composition, commissioned by Kurt Silver and the Original Boneheads, was performed and recorded by The Trombones of the Saint Louis Symphony.
This quartet has an accessible and sometimes jazz-inflected harmonic language. Fun to play as well as an audience-pleaser, it’s appropriate for an undergraduate or professional group. The second movement, “Chorale,” features a solo for Trombone 3. Trombone 1 has frequent high B flats and one notable entrance on a high B in the chorale.

Three Prayers
Commissioned and recorded by the St. Louis Low Brass Collective, this original composition for four trombones, two euphoniums, two tubas, and drum set is by turns solemn, soulful, funky, and jubilant.
This three-movement work runs 17 minutes and is ideal for a college ensemble with access to an excellent jazz drummer.
